Canton Team Wins Ladies' Golf Tourney
The women's tour descended on Timber Ridge Golf Course for a four-lady golf scramble held Tuesday, June 3rd.
The championship flight was won by the team of Shirey, Flanagan, Golden and Logston from Canton with a final score of 61. The team of Job, Ehrlich, Gosney and Caldwell of Ewing finished in second place, completing the 18-hole event with a score of 65.
In the A flight it was the team of Grant, Johnson, Warrick and Vestal, haling from Memphis and Livonia, that captured the first place prize. The team won a tiebreaker to claim top honors.
Second place went to Law, Schlepphorst, McClain and Norman of Kirksville. Both teams finished with scores of 67.
During the event a number of prizes were given away on the course. Dunn of Memphis was the winner on hole number two with the shortest drive used by a team. Ehrlich from Ewing had the closest shot to the pin on hole number five. The longest putt on hole number nine was made by Shirey from Canton.
Hole number three featured a 50/50 contest for the closest shot to the pin. Caldwell of Ewing won the cash on the front nine while on the back nine it was Dabney of Memphis taking home the prize.
