Four SCR-I Golfers Named All-Conference

Four Scotland County golfers earned all-conference honors but it was not enough to bring home the league title for the school as SCR-I finished just one stroke off the pace to Tri-Rivers Conference champs Brookfield.

Corvin Drummond and Chase Moore both earned first team honors courtesy of their rounds of 74 in the conference meet held May 5 in Memphis at Timber Ridge Golf Course.

Josh McBee shot a 75 and Andy Boyer had a 76 to round out the team score. Both players were named second team all-conference with those scores.

SCR-I had four of the top 10 individual performances on the day but it wasn't good enough to win the team title in the seven school field.

Damean Knowles helped secure the conference crown for Brookfield as he took individual medallist honors with a score of 70. Teammate Andy Saccaro was just two strokes off the top pace with a 72. Kris Brewer of Clark County and Andy Herrington rounded out the top six players in the league with rounds of 71 to earn first team honors.

The second team all-conference consisted of Richard Brogemer (75) of Brookfield, Trent Small (76) Schuyler County, Chris Welder (80) Putnam County and Devon Brotherton (80) Clark County.

Brookfield won the league title with a score of 298. SCR-I shot a 299. Third place was well off that top pace with a 323 where Schuyler County and Clark County tied. Putnam County was fifth (347) with Knox County in sixth (375). Milan did not turn in a score.
