Rainy Conditions Don't Slow Down Tiger Golfers
The rainy conditions didn't hamper the Scotland County golf team April 16 as the Tigers defeated Clark County in a head-to-head match at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Memphis.
Corvin Drummond finished with a round of 34 to shoot par. He tied with Devon Brotherton of Clark County for the individual medalist honors. Drummond ran into a little trouble on hole number five with a bogey. But the junior made up for it two holes later with a birdie on whole number seven.
The fifth hole caused trouble for the Tigers Andy Boyer and Chase Moore as well as both finished with double bogeys on the course's toughest hole. That didn't stop them from putting up solid scores as Boyer shot a 38 and Moore finished with a 39. Kyle Lister rounded out the team score with a 41 to give Scotland County an overall score of 152. That was eight strokes better than Clark County, which finished the day at 160. Josh McBee shot a 43 as the #5 score for the Tigers varsity.
The SCR-I junior varsity golfers were also victorious, defeating Clark County 178 to 187. Josh Marlowe topped the scoring with a 40. Vince Rockhold carded a 42 followed by Brian Dial with a 45, Ryan Baker with a 51 and Nick Oldham with a 52.
