Fromm Pours In 27 To Lead Lady Tigers To Victory
Crunch time is when the big-time players are supposed to step up. So with her team trailing 25-24 coming out of halftime, Scotland County's all-stater, Meagan Fromm basically took over the game, scoring 17 of her game-high 27 points in the second half to lead SCR-I to a 55-45 victory over Canton February 25th.
"Meagan was on fire in the second half," stated coach Andrea Dabney. "She stepped up and hit the big shots for us down the stretch."
The Wildcats got off to a good start building a 16-11 lead in the first period.
"We had to pull off our full court press because they were beating it and getting some easy scores," coach Dabney said.
The defensive change slowed down Canton a bit but the Wildcats still shot the ball extremely well in the first half and went into the locker room clinging to a 25-24 advantage.
Fromm took over in the third period. She drilled a pair of three pointers en route to 10 third period points. Ali Fromm added a three pointer and Brandi Mallett scored a key bucket as Scotland County went ahead 39-36.
Jessie Cotton got into the act in the fourth period. She scored all five of her points down the stretch. Fromm continued to bomb away and it proved to much for Canton as the Lady Tigers went on to the 55-45 win.
Meagan Fromm led all scorers with 27 points. Ali Fromm finished with 11 points and led the team with 11 rebounds.
