Hill's 36 Points Lead Canton Past Tigers In 74-44 Defeat
The Scotland County Tigers got first hand knowledge of why Aaron Hill is one of the best basketball players in the tri-state area January 17 when Canton came to town. SCR-I also learned why Canton is one of the top team's in the state in Class 1A as the highly touted team left Memphis with a 74-44 win over the Tigers.

Hill played a huge roll in the performance pouring in 36 points from all over the court as his team cruised to the easy victory.
Scotland County stayed within striking distance in the first period. Three pointers by Danny Roach and Jake Fogle had SCR-I trailing just 17-12 at the end of the period.
Unfortunately the second quarter was much different as Canton outscored SCR-I 26-7 to put the game away. Turnovers plagued Scotland County, which also was troubled by a big rebounding advantage favoring Canton.
The Tigers opened the third period with a 7-0 run to begin to bring the home crowd back into the game before Hill took over and ended the hopes of any SCR-I comeback with pair of three pointers to end the third period.

Scotland County played better in the fourth period but it was too little, too late as Canton had the game in hand.
Aaron Dale led the Scotland County offense with nine points. Clint Cottrell finished with eight points and both Roach and Fogle finished with six.
The loss dropped Scotland County to 2-9 on the year.
