TRAVIS LEE ARNOLD
(1/28/1964 - 12/20/2003)
Travis Lee Arnold, 39, of Emerado, ND, died December 20, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife and family were with him as he began his new journey.
Travis was born January 28, 1964, the youngest of five children born to Alice Arnold and Kenneth Arnold, Sr.
Travis attended Larimore High School and joined the Job Corps to become a mason.
Travis married his soul-mate, Tyann Anderson on March 20, 1986. A few days later Trav left to serve his country in the United States Army. Trav and Ty (T-n-T) traveled the world together. They were stationed in Alabama, Hawaii, Korea (twice), Washington and Texas. After the Army suggested they should “visit” Korea a third time, they decided to return to North Dakota in 2000.
Trav had a love for the outdoors, music, and animals. He and Ty enjoyed hiking, bicycling, and camping together. One of Trav’s favorite anecdotes of the Army was his individual rescue of several goats that had been captured by Army Rangers for dinner. Trav was kind, caring and loved to tinker and create things. He was very ingenious and meticulous in whatever task he undertook.
He shared his life with his loving and devoted wife, Tyann of Emerado, ND; mother, Alice Arnold of Emerado, ND; father, Kenneth Arnold, Sr. of Grand Forks, ND; brothers, Kenneth Arnold, Jr. (Dixie) of Grand Forks, ND, James Arnold of Emerado, ND, and Cecil Arnold of Grand Forks, ND; grandmother, Matalee Arnold of Memphis, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Bonita Arnold (Dvorcek), step-mother, Arla Arnold and brother-in-law, Danny Huus.
Travis was truly one of a kind and will be missed.
Services were held December 23, 2003, at Gregg Normans Funeral Home, Grand Forks, ND. Burial was in Emerado Cemetery, Emerado, ND, next to his sister, Bonita with a short graveside service.
