BEULAH E. “BEA” FERGUSON

Beulah E. “Bea” Ferguson, 75, of Quincy, IL, died November 13, 2003, in her home.
She was born April 8, 1928, in Alexandria, MO, the daughter of Henry Clay and Mary Catherine Hocraffer Brooks.
On May 28, 1948, she married James Edward Ferguson in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1988.
She was a 1946 graduate of Clark County High School in Kahoka, MO. She and her husband had lived in Downing, MO, Marion, IN, Ewing, MO, and in Quincy, IL. While in Quincy, Bea worked at Motorola, Art Craft and K-Mart. Nothing was more important to her than her family. The past several years she followed her heart and took many trips with family, close friends, and anyone who also enjoyed traveling. For over 30 years she had been the family historian and connection to many branches of the family tree. Her love of education never ended. She enjoyed her computer and was a prolific reader.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Lucke and her husband, Ronald J. of Quincy, IL, Barbara J. Hall and her husband, Michael A. of Henderson, KY; one adopted son, Robert Ferguson and his wife, Kim of Lewistown, MO; two granddaughters, Hiliary J. and Heather M. Lucke of Quincy, IL; one step-granddaughter, Alexis McWilliams of Lewistown, MO; one sister, Lois Carter of Memphis, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and five brothers, Floyd, Marion, Harold, Leo and George.
Funeral services were held on November 16, 2003, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy, IL, with Rev. Timothy A. White officiating. Burial was in Frazee Cemetery, Wayland, MO. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the charity of the donor’s choice.
