Lawrence Clinton Patterson, 69, of Edina, MO, passed away June 30, 2003, at the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, MO.
Born December 17, 1933, in Edina, MO, he was a son of Alba Carter and Grace Marie (Hudson) Patterson.
On March 13, 1952 in Greentop, MO, he was united in marriage to Donna Faye Lindquist.
Surviving are his wife, Donna of Edina, MO; two children, Judy Callahan and husband, Terry "Red" Callahan of Edina, MO and Troy Patterson and wife, Tisha of Palmyra, MO; two grandchildren, Nikki Nevin and husband, Jeff, Amy Hubble and husband, Rick and one grandson expected in October of this year; five great-grandchildren, Tara LeAnne Nevin, John Wesley Nevin, Lindsey Ann Hubble, Hannah Leigh Nevin and Landon Dean Hubble; one brother, Alba Leon Patterson of Benton, AR; and two sisters, Vada M. Martin and husband, Marvin D. of Chariton, IA and Rosalie Harrell and husband, Wayne Jr. of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one granddaughter, Tara LeAnne Callahan and one brother, Kenneth R. Patterson preceded him in death.
Mr. Patterson was raised in Knox County, MO, where he attended schools graduating from the Edina High School in 1951. He resided in Edina, MO where he owned and operated the Phillips 66 Station and used car lot until 1977.Clinton then moved to Memphis, MO, where he was co-owners of the Memphis Ford LTD dealership until 1990. He owned Pats Discount Furniture for three years before his retirement. In 2000 he moved to Edina, MO.
He was a member of the Edina United Methodist Church. Clinton was an avid car and motorcycle fan. He enjoyed motorcyclist and was a past member of The Golden Eagles Motorcycle Club.
Funeral services were held July 3, 2003 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Charles H. Hammack officiated the services. Recorded musical selections were played. Entombment was in the Garden of Prayer Mausoleum at Park View Memorial Gardens at Kirksville, MO. Casket bearers were Duane Arnold, Larry Overstreet, Tom DeBerry, C. Von Snow, L.P. Mayfield, and William Hayes. Honorary bearers were Mike Kinsel, Bob Ward, Dick Harper, and Bennie Fisher. An expression of sympathy in memory of Mr. Patterson may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home Medical Equipment Fund. A memorial may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O.
