Clarabell Daggs, 90, formerly of Arbela, MO, died July 4, 2003, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

She was born April 9, 1913 in Clark County, MO to Elmer Scott and Lela Pearl Hays Dorsey.

She attended the rural schools of Clark County and graduated from the Luray High School at the age of 16. In her early years she attended the Mt. Moriah Methodist Church and later transferred her membership to the Memphis Methodist Church.

She married Marion E. Daggs on December 26, 1934 in Keokuk, IA, and to this union was born one son. Her husband preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and mother and was retired from the housekeeping department of the Scotland County Hospital and Nursing Home. She was a past member of the Mt. Moriah's Ladies' Aid and enjoyed quilting.

She is survived by her son, James Robert Daggs and his wife, Beverly of Memphis, MO; three granddaughters, Jacqueline L. Daggs and her husband, Michael Olson of Eldora, IA, Jennifer L. Daggs-Furkin and husband, Roger of Columbia, MO, Joy L. Daggs of Eldora, IA; and three great-granddaughters, Jaelyn R. Daggs-Olson, Jordyn L. Daggs-Olson and Reece W. Furkin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Daggs; her parents; a sister, Norma Rude; and a brother, Dwight Dorsey.

Funeral services were held July 9, 2003, in the Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO with the Reverend Carol Blackwell officiating. Connie Courtney was the organist and vocalist was LaMayra Brown. Casket bearers were Gerald Brunk, Ron Gardner, Johnny Erickson, Mike Aylward, Steve Woodruff, and Randy Woodruff. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Scotland County Memorial Library, Memphis, MO. Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO was in charge of arrangements.
