Frances H. Reno, 72, of Keosauqua, IA, died June 16, 2003, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, IA.

She was born May 23, 1931, near Pulaski, IA to Forrest D. and Ruth Widmer Hartzler.

She married Max Reno, September 26, 1948, at the Pulaski Mennonite Church.

She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1948.

She worked with her husband in Reno Feed Service in Bonaparte, IA, and Reno Real Estate and Auction Service in Bonaparte, Keosauqua and Bloomfield, IA, and she served as her husband's secretary while he was a state senator from 1964-1968. She was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church, Chapter AB, P.E.O., Bonaparte and the Thursday Bridge Club, Keosauqua.

Surviving is her husband; three sons, Stephen and his wife, Joanna of Ankeny, IA, Marcus of St. Petersburg, FL; and R. William of Phoenix, AZ; son-in-law, Stephen Shriver of Bonaparte, IA; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Hazel Fry of Green Valley, AZ, Ellen Lowe of Batavia, IL, Christine Botts of Bloomfield, IA, and Gertrude Saylor of Mountain Pine, AR.

Her parents; a daughter, Heidi Shriver; a brother, John Hartzler; and a sister, Florence Lowenberg, preceded her in death.

Open visitation will be Thursday, June 19 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, IA, with the family present 3:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in Bonaparte Baptist Church, Bonaparte, IA, with Pastor Mark Caston officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial Saturday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m. in Bonaparte Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bonaparte Baptist Church and American Diabetes Association and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 454, Keosauqua, IA 52565.
