Mary Marguerite Aeschliman Martin, 93, of Lancaster, MO, died on March 29, 2003, at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, MO.

The daughter of Frank and Luretta (Fulton) Aeschliman, she was born on February 1, 1910 in Schuyler County, MO.

She was a graduate of the Lancaster High School and Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL.

On July 28, 1928, she was married to Ralph Edwin Martin in Nevada, IA and to this union five children were born.

Marguerite worked for Stark Brothers Nursery in Louisiana, MO, Modernaire Café, and Schuyler County Extension Office. She was also the Collector of Revenue for Schuyler County, MO for eight years, retiring in 1993.

She is survived by her four children, Carolyn Martin of Ottumwa, IA, Don and his wife, Linda Martin of Lancaster, MO, Joyce and her husband, Larry Hurley of Livonia, MO and Jon and his wife, Linda Martin of Roach, MO; seven grandchildren, Lisa and her husband, Steve Silvers of Milton, IA, Matthew and his wife, Julie Martin of Yucca Valley, CA, Rhett and his wife, Heather Hurley of Livonia, MO, Ben and his wife, Charla Martin of Palmyra, MO, Ched and his wife, Traci Hurley of Livonia, MO, Sarah and her husband, Cleve Schuetzeberg of Liberty Hill, TX, and Kristin and her husband, Andrew Miller of Kansas City, MO; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ralph (Buddy) Aeschliman of Long Beach, CA; one sister-in-law, Jessie Sue and her husband, Robert Cool of Hudson, IA.

Her parents; husband, Ralph on March 14, 1963; one daughter, Marilyn on September 23, 1938, and one brother, Garrett, preceded her in death.

Marguerite was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, MO, where she was a faithful member as long as her health permitted and also a member of the CWS of that church. She was also a member of the Melvin Extension Club.

Funeral services were held on April 1, 2003, at the Lancaster Christian Church with Brent Fleshman officiating. Organist, Maureen Watkins and soloist, Beth Gravett, provided music. Pallbearers were her grandsons. A memorial has been established for the Lancaster Christian Church. Burial was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, MO. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home, Lancaster, MO.
