TERRY REX COFFRIN

Terry Rex Coffrin, 50, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Memphis, MO, passed away March 8, 2003, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota.
The son of Rex and Aloha (Brown) Coffrin, he was born December 21, 1952, in Keokuk, IA.
He graduated from Scotland County R-I High School, Memphis, MO in 1970 and then graduated from Gem City School of Horology, Quincy, IL, in March 1972. He then moved to Venice, FL.
He had worked for Sellers Jewelry in Bradenton, FL and Schrode Jewelers in Sarasota, FL, before opening his own business in 1980. He was the owner of Coffrin Diamond Jewelers in Sarasota. He loved his work.
On December 24, 1985, he was married to Belinda A. Orin.
Terry enjoyed saltwater fishing, target shooting, hunting, and hiking. He was a member of the Church of the Redeemer-Episcopal in Sarasota, of the Sunrise Kiwanis Club, CCA (Coastal Conservation Associ-ation) and IJO (Independent Jewelers Organization).
Preceding him in death were his father and grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Belinda of Sarasota, FL; a son, Jason of Sarasota, FL; his mother, Aloha Coffrin of Memphis, MO; his brother, Tom and wife, Patricia Coffrin of Memphis, MO; his grandmother, Lena Brown Lancaster of Memphis, MO; two uncles, Bill and wife Lola Coffrin of Memphis, MO and Eugene Brown and wife, Jonna of Columbia, MO; two aunts, Norma and husband Jim Fincher of Memphis, TN and Nola Joy and husband Glen Fugate of Keokuk, IA; six cousins, Connie, Peggy, Devin, Kevin, Lauren and Kenny; and many friends.
A memorial service was held on March 14, 2003, in the Church of the Redeemer-Episcopal in Sarasota, FL. Cremains are in a garden with a bronze plaque at the Church of the Redeemer-Episcopal, Sarasota, FL. Memor-ials in the memory of Terry Rex Coffrin may be made to the Church of the Redeemer-Episcopal Children's Fund, Sarasota, FL, the Sunrise Kiwanis Club, Sarasota, FL, or to the First Christian Church, Memphis, MO and may be left at Coffrin Shoe Store in Memphis, MO. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, Sarasota, FL, was in charge of arrangements.
