Timothy (Tim) Mendenhall, 42, formerly of Memphis, MO, died early March 3, 2003, at his home near Kirksville, MO.

Tim was born May 17, 1960, in Kirksville, MO, the son of Robert and Norma (Fogle-Tinkle) Mendenhall.

He grew up on a farm southeast of Memphis, MO, and graduated from Memphis High School in 1979. Tim joined the U.S. Navy in August of 1980 and he spent most of his time in Italy. He came home on leave in 1982 and met and married a school friend, Teri Blacket Small. She went back to Italy with Tim, where they made their home until his honorable discharge from the Navy in August of 1983. They then returned to Memphis, MO to live. Tim and Teri had one son, Timothy M. Mendenhall born in 1982.

Tim had back surgery shortly after his return to Memphis, MO. After his recuperation from the surgery he attended Indian Hills College for two years. After that he came back to Memphis, MO and later moved to Kirksville, MO, where he met Angie Baker and they were parents of two children, Matya Dawn and Troy Logan Mendenhall.

Tim was a trader by heart and liked to buy, sell and trade. He enjoyed taking nature walks and was interested in other people. Most of all he loved his children and enjoyed the time he spent with them. He lived life to its fullest.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Mendenhall; grandparents, Charles and Verna (Walker) Mendenhall, and Walter and Thelma (Jones) Fogle.

He is survived by his children, Tim, Matya and Troy Logan Mendenhall; one sister, Kimberly Ann (Mendenhall) Anesi of Kirksville, MO; three brothers, Larry and his wife, Geneva Tinkle of Memphis, MO, Ronnie and his wife, Chris of Memphis, MO, and Rick Tinkle of Sublette, MO; uncles, aunts, lots of cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held March 6, 2003, at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, MO with the Reverend Carol Blackwell officiating. Music was by Tim's nephew, Cody Persell. Pallbearers were Tim's nephews. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO. Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, was in charge of arrangements.
