IVA MARIE SNYDER

Iva Marie Snyder, 82, of the Bible Grove community near Baring, MO, passed away February 28, 2003 at the Scotland County Care Center at Memphis, MO.
The daughter of Harold Otis and Bertha Florence (Shouse) Emmons, she was born Janaury 25, 1921, near Williamstown, MO in Adair County, MO.
On May 20, 1951 at LaPlata, MO, she was united in marriage to Fred Allen Snyder, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Harold J. Snyder of Bible Grove, MO; one sister, Geneva Perez of Salem, OR; a granddaughter, Lara Marie Snyder of New Bloomfield, MO; two sisters-in-law, Betty Emmons of Patterson, CA and Helen Iona Linneman of Quincy, IL; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Her parents, one brother, Donald Lea Emmons, and two sisters, Eileen Reager and Mary Edith Dias, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Snyder attended rural schools in Macon and Adair County and graduated from the LaPlata High School. In 1948 she graduated from the Kirksville State Teachers College, majoring in Social Science and English. Mrs. Snyder taught school for over 30 years in the Adair and Macon Counties and also in Gorin, Downing and Bible Grove.
She was a housewife and homemaker. Iva Marie was a member of the Baptist Church in LaPlata, MO and later transferred to Bible Grove Christian Church. She was also a member of the Bible Grove Historical Preser-vation Committee, Greensburg Chapter #258 O.E.S. and later transferred to Colony Chapter #543 O.E.S. She enjoyed her family, reading, sewing and crafts.
Funeral services were held March 4, 2003, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Jamie Frankie officiated the services. Burial was in the Bible Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers were Art Neff, Larry Runge, David Snyder, George Frederick, Eugene Spray, and James Spray.
Eastern Star services were held March 3, 2003, in the chapel conducted by Colony Chapter #543 Order of the Eastern Star at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina, MO.
