BARBARA EILEEN (WEBBER) BUCKALLEW
(8/19/1942 - 2/10/2003)
Barbara Elleen (Webber) Buckallew was born August 19, 1942 in Pollock, MO, to Arthur Melvin and Nellie Mae (Miller) Webber and passed away February 10, 2003 in Carbondale, IL.
On February 9, 1959 in Memphis, MO, she was united in marriage to Harl Eugene Buckallew and to this union three children were born, Alan Eugene, Jeffrey Dean and Brenda Denise.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Harl; one son, Jeff and his wife, Brenda Buckallew of Omaha, NE; one daughter, Brenda Hubbartt of Lancaster, MO; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Buckallew, Erik Buckallew, Stacey Gooden, Derek Gooden, Colton Gooden, Stephanie Hubbartt, Madison Huffman and Mackenzie Leigh Buckallew; one great-grandson, Cason Barker; four brothers, Cleo Webber of Unionville, MO, Gene Webber of Keytesville, MO, Larry Webber of Centerville, IA, and Junior Webber of Kirksville, MO; two sisters, Louise Machlan of Unionville, MO and Edna Mae Hurtado of Kansas City, KS; her father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Judy Buckallew of Lancaster, MO, and Clyde and Edna Lay of Memphis, MO; and brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Her parents; one son, Alan Eugene Buckallew, who passed away on April 9, 1998; two brothers, Archie Webber and Gary Webber and one sister, Norman June Webber, preceded Barbara in death.
Barbara was baptized in 1964 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Grubville, MO and was presently a member of the Glenville Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY.
She attended Putnam County High School in Unionville, MO and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shrine.
She was a project secretary for McCarthy Brothers Construction for the last 13 years. Barbara and her sister-in-law, Leanna were den mothers in the Boys Scouts while her husband, Harl and brother-in-law, Darl were Webelo leaders in the Boy Scouts. She and her husband also loved to take trips by themselves and with friends on their motorcycles. Barbara was a person that always put everyone's needs and wants before her own. She loved spending time with her husband, her family, and her grandchildren and great-grandson. Everyone she came in contact with grew to love her. She will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial services were held February 14, 2003, at the Lancaster Christian Church with Rob Green, pastor of that church, officiating. Organist Maureen Watkins provided the music. Special taped selections were played. Pallbearers were Junior Buckallew, Bobby Newland, Russell Huffman, Derek Gooden, Gary Buckallew and Richie Buckallew. A memorial has been established for the Schuyler County Little League Association. Inurnment will be at a later date by the family as the body has been cremated. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Norman Funeral Home.
