DOROTHEANN TUCKER ST. CLAIR

Dorotheann Tucker St. Clair, 75, of Williamstown, MO, passed away January 25, 2003, in Ottumwa, IA, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Jerry Deere. She was born June 5, 1927 in Canton, MO, to Joseph Samuel (J.S.) and Daisy Elene Buford Tucker. She married Virgil Craig "Bud" St. Clair on July 11, 1945, at the Methodist Parsonage in Monticello, MO. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2000. Survivors include her two daughters, Rebecca Sue Woodruff of Williamstown, MO, and Deborah House-Deere and her husband, Jerry Lynn Deere of Ottumwa, IA; five grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Woodruff and Andrea Leigh Woodruff of Tulsa, OK, Jesse Craig House of Iowa City, IA, and Daniel Nicholas House and Jeremiah Chandler House, both of Ottumwa, IA; one sister, Doris Ladine Welker of Williamstown, MO; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Chester and Virginia St. Clair of Wyaconda, MO, Noel Wayne and Juanita St. Clair of Canton, MO, and Betty St. Clair of Kahoka, MO; two aunts-in-law, Garnet St. Clair of Kahoka, MO, and Opal Priebe of Farmington, IA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Paul Eugene Tucker, and two brothers-in-law, Richard Welker and Kenneth St. Clair. Dorotheann was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to her family and friends, and to her church. She graduated from Williams-town Community School District in 1945. Following graduation, she worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC for a brief period of time. She then married Virgil and helped with the livestock and grain farming. She was an active member of Providence Baptist Church and was a Girls' Auxiliary leader in the church for over 30 years. She had also served on the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Board and as Church Treasurer. She was a member of the Williamstown Order of the Eastern Star #547, now Kahoka Chapter #40, and had received her 50-year pin this past September. She was also a member of the Quincy Area Travel Trailer Club. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Funeral services were held January 28, 2003 at Providence Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Van Bebber officiating. Jessie Golden was organist and Louise St. Clair was pianist. Mary Ruth Hudnut was soloist and congregational singing led by Shirley Van Bebber. Honorary pallbearers were Douglas St. Clair, Michael St. Clair, Francis St. Clair, Albert St. Clair, Ron Starkey, Larry Tinkle, Gary Webster, Steve St. Clair, Kevin Kerr, Rick Martin, Kevin Carlin, Larry Welker, Jack Welker, Robert Toops, and Chris Boeding. Pallbearers were Norman Briscoe, Rick Lillard, Stanley Welker, Rex Nelson, Dean Hess, Mike Hudnut, Matt Plenge and Mark Plenge. Burial was in Providence Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in her honor were suggested to Blessing Hospice, Wapello County Hospice, Providence Cemetery, or the Missouri Cancer Association of Columbia, MO. Arrangements were handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO.
