CHARLES HENRY PETERSON

Charles Henry Peterson, 91, of East Moline, IL, formerly of Gorin, MO, passed away January 15, 2003, in East Moline, IL.
Charles was born January 10, 1912, in Clark County, MO, the son of John Victor and Oda Dale Peterson.
On January 8, 1933 near Gorin, MO, he was united in marriage to Drucilla Price and she preceded him in death on August 11, 1993.
His parents; three brothers, Jacob A. Peterson, Fred M. Peterson, and John William Peterson; two sisters, Jewell L. Price, Mary Agnes Mathena, and two daughters-in-law, Doris Peterson and Amy Peterson, also preceded him in death.
Surviving are four sons, Arlie Peterson of Milan, IL, Robert Peterson and his wife, Billie of Moline, IL, Larry Peterson of Rapid City, IL, and Kenny Peterson and his wife, Sharon of Cordova, IL; one brother, Pershing Peterson and wife, Wanda of Rutledge, MO; nine grandchildren, David and Albert Peterson, Gail Hellberg, Steve and Kristi Peterson, Chad and Lisa Peterson, Amy Peterson, and Angie Jones; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was engaged in farming most of his life near Colony, where he also did custom trucking for area farmers. In later years he moved to Gorin, MO, where he enjoyed hanging out at the local garage visiting with friends. Charley was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church. Then in 1994 he moved near Milan, IL, to live with his son, Arlie and Doris Peterson.
Funeral services were held January 18, 2003, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, MO. The Reverend Ernest Deatrick officiated the services and Mary Peterson provided the music. Burial was in the Gorin Cemetery, Gorin, MO. Casket bearers were Arlie Peterson, Robert Peterson, Larry Peterson, Kenny Peterson, David Peterson, and Albert Peterson. An expression of sympathy in memory of Charles H. Peterson may be made to the Gorin Baptist Church.
