Tigers Crowned District Champs
It was a nail biter but the Scotland County Tigers football team escaped from Edina with a hard-fought 14-12 victory over Knox County on Friday night to capture the District Title and advance into the first round of the state Class 1 playoffs.
SCR-I (6-4) will travel to Princeton (10-0) to take on the second ranked team in the state in Class 1 on Wednesday, November 12. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time.
The Tigers advanced to the state’s sweet 16 for the second straight season, meeting Princeton in both recent appearances. SCR-I lost to Princeton 34-6 in the first round of the 2002 playoffs.
