Memphis Man Among June Lottery Winners
June ticket sales from the Missouri Lottery accounted for a transfer of more than $18 million to the Lottery Proceeds Fund for public education.
During that time more than $1.8 million in cash prizes was awarded including a $1,000 winning Scratchers Ticket owned by Memphis resident John Matlock.
The state had six $100,000 winners in the Powerball game. Robert Myers of Stover was a $100,000 Scratchers winner with four others winning $50,000 or more in the game.
To date more than $2 billion in Missouri Lottery proceeds have been transferred to the state of Missouri, including education, since the Lottery started in 1986. Approximately 27.5 cents of every dollar spent playing the Lottery goes to the public education programs in Missouri, representing about three percent of the state's annual education funding.
