Bible Grove Preservation Committee Having A Successful Start To 2003
Donors are continuing to make 2003 a successful year for the Bible Grove Historical Preservation Committee, which began a drive to raise money to help restore the old Bible Grove School building back in January.
"We truly appreciate those individuals who attended fund raisers throughout the year and donated towards the cause," stated Greta Slocum, project coordinator. "The proceeds will go towards the restoration of the Bible Grove School. We can't thank all these people enough for their wonderful support."

Further fund raising will continue for the restoration project. Watch the Memphis Democrat for more information. The committee is also featured on KMEM Coffee Break once a month. Bible Grove T-shirts are available in sizes small to 2XL in red, royal blue, hunter green and pink for $10.00. Postcards of the courthouse, Bible Grove and Rutledge Schools are available for $1.00 each. Sunday, August 17th at 2:00 p.m. the committee will raffle off a quilted wall hanging of the American flag sewn and donated by Maxine Phillips and Glenna (Phillips) Maxwell. Tickets for the raffle are three for $1.00 and may be purchased by contacting committee members, Dennis and Sharon Bradley, Terry and Kathy Marshall, Gene and Lila Spray, James and Amy Spray, Harold Snyder, Max Hamilton, David McRobert, Greta Slocum or Emmett and Maxine Phillips.
Bible Grove Preservation Days will be August 15th, 16th and 17th. Fliers providing details for the weekend's events have been posted in the business windows and bulletin boards throughout Memphis.
