Tickets On Sale Now For 'The Butler Did It Againí

The Memphis Community Players will be presenting ďThe Butler Did It, AgainĒ at the Memphis Theatre with nightly shows June 24-28. Cast members pictured in the front row (L to R) are Billy Yarbrough, Marie Brown, Melissa Behrens, Samantha Brush, Laurie Jack, Whitney Neighbors, Andrew Graham and Charles Harris. Pictured in the back row (L to R) are Denny Ward, Davin Newman, Reece Hogarth and Renee Miller.

Tickets are now on sale for the Memphis Community Players' production of Tim Kelly's "The Butler Did It Again", the two-act comedy spoof of detective writers and mystery stage plays that is a sequel to "The Butler Did It", also written by Kelly and staged by the MCP in 2001.

Mary Ruth Couch reprises her role as the MCP director, as do a few of the cast members in this summer's production.

Also reprising roles from "The Butler" predecessor are Marie Brown as Miss Maple, Billy Yarbrough as Chandler Marlowe, and Davin Newman as Louie Fan.

Samantha Brush and Renee Miller return for the sequel, but appear in new roles.

Newcomers to the production are Laurie Jack, Reece Hogarth, Whitney Neighbors, Andrew Graham, Denny Ward and Melissa Behrens. New to this production but not the MCP stage is veteran Charles Harris, who was one of the MCP founders in 1975. He has appeared in all but a few of the annual summer productions to date.

Director Mary Couch assures prospective theatre-goers that "Even if you didn't see the 2001 production, you can still enjoy the hilarity of this show." This time around Miss Maple, a publisher and socialite who enjoys hosting amusing weekend parties, invites several classic detective prototypes to a plantation in the swamplands of Louisiana to introduce her latest literary discovery. Along the way comes murder, mayhem, chills, thrills, alibis, clues, motives and dazzling plot twists, fast-paced dialogue and zany action.

"The Butler Did It Again" plays at 7:30 p.m. June 25-28 at the Memphis Theatre on the square in Memphis, Missouri. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the box office and 7:00 p.m. for the show. Tickets are $7.00 and will be available from 1-4 p.m. weekdays at the Memphis Theatre. For more information and reservations, call (660) 465-2277.
