Eric Farris Is First Baby Of New Year At SCMH
The stork barely had time to recover from any New Year's celebrating he may have done as the first baby of 2003 was delivered at Scotland County Memorial Hospital January 3.
Eric James Lane Farris was born at 9:38 a.m. to Dan and Breanna Farris of Kirksville. The young man tipped the scales at seven pounds and seven ounces and measured 21 inches in length.
Grandparents are Gina Moran and Dennis Moran of Greentop and Janet Farris and Ron Shelton of Bucklin.
As the first baby of the New Year born at SCMH, Eric was honored with a special gift package courtesy of area businesses.
The gifts included: bib overalls from Cook's Mens Store; a booster seat from Rose Hardware; a $25 gift certificate from Memphis Farm & Home; a candle bath set from Treasured Moments; a teddy bear and balloon from The Flower Garden; a picture frame and balloon from Countryside Flowers; a gift certificate from Stoney's Automotive; a coffee mug and laminated copy of the birth announcement from Payne Funeral Chapel; screen printed baby clothes from RPM; a baby blanket from the SCMH & SCCC Auxiliary; a baby blanket from Farmers Mutual Insurance and a $50 savings bond from Barbara Crawford & Associates and Crawford Auto Electric.
