Fuller Gets First Win Of Season At Bloomfield
By Scott Watson Bloomfield, IA (July 19th) - Cody Townsend of Bloomfield, IA, passed Jim Walker for the IMCA Hobby Stock feature lead on the second lap and gradually built a five car-length lead over the next 12 laps. He crossed the finish line with that margin for his first career Hobby Stock win in one and a half years of competing in the division during McClure Concrete Contractors Night at The Bloomfield Speedway.
Walker finished in second place with Mark Wirth of Chariton, IA, in third and Dennis Greenfield of Ottumwa, IA, in fourth.
Jardin Fuller of Memphis took advantage of his pole position start in the IMCA Modified main event and went to the lead at the drop of the green. Fuller held off Wade Francis of Eddyville, IA, who pulled up close to Fuller on several occasions during the 16-lap event but was unable to make his way around him with Fuller picking up his first win of the year at Bloomfield.
"I could hear someone behind me but I never did see him," said Fuller in victory lane. It had been two years since Fuller had made his last trip to the winners circle at Bloomfield.
Francis finished a close second with Jim Lynch of Bloomfield, IA, in third and Todd Holman of Ottumwa, IA in fourth.
Jeremy Miller of Batavia, IA, made his way around Chris Hawkins of Drakesville, IA, for the IMCA Stock Car feature lead on the third lap and pulled away the remaining thirteen circuits for the victory by almost a straightaway over second place, Hawkins. Reed Petersen of Ottumwa, IA, came across the stripe in third and Mike McClure of Bloomfield, IA in fourth.
John Sheston and Ryan Stober of Centerville, IA, edged out Paula Smeltser and Jason Overhulser of St. Francisville by inches at the finish line for the win in the Cruiser feature.

Robert Arnold and Dave Hudson of Memphis finished in third with Bryan Overhulser and Sean Verdon of St. Francisville in fourth.
