MILO "JUNIOR" ALLEN

Milo "Junior" Allen, 73, of Queen City, MO, died November 9, 2002, at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO.
The son of Oscar Milo and Mary Louise (Harbert) Allen, he was born February 22, 1929, at Memphis, MO.
Mr. Allen grew up in the Lancaster, MO area where he graduated from Lancaster High School with the class of 1947.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from August 1951 until May 1953.
On October 4, 1953, he was united in marriage to Reta Jean Lyberger, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Lisa) Jones of Lancaster, MO, and Lori Allen of Kirksville, MO; two grandsons Thaddous and Ethan Jones; a brother, William Lawrence Allen of El Reno, OK; one aunt, Hilda Harbert and four cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Britney Jones, who passed away in 1991.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen have made their home in Queen City for the past 29 years. He was employed by the Missouri State Highway Department as a building specialist. He had worked with them for 33Ĺ years throughout a 14 county area, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the Baker-Sparks American Legion Post #575 in Livonia, MO.
Funeral services were held November 12, 2002, at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO. Scott Paris, Pastor of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church officiated. Music was provided by Maureen Watkins, organist. Pallbearers were Bill Camden, David Camden, Morris McNabb, John Moore, Virgil Schmitter and Joe Pierce. Interment was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery at Lancaster, MO with the Baker-Sparks American Legion Post #575 holding military rites. A memorial has been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO was in charge of arrangements.
