Jessie Elizabeth "Betty" (Boag) Drummond, 92, passed away September 3, 2002, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO.

The daughter of Alex and Mary (Dawkins) Boag, she was born July 11, 1910, in Centerville, IA.

On September 2, 1945, in Memphis, MO she was united in marriage to Carl Drummond, who preceded her in death on February 4, 1999.

Surviving Betty are three daughters, Barbara and husband, Dean Seamster of Memphis, MO, Carolyn June and husband, Con Root of Newburg, MO, and Reta Jane and husband, Richard Lewis of Moberly, MO; three grandchildren, Deborah Seamster of Memphis, MO, Mike and wife, Laura Seamster of Blue River, WI, and Lisa Miller of Knoxville, TN; four great-grandchildren.

Her parents; her husband, Carl; one son-in-infancy; one grandson, Christopher Seamster and one nephew, Darrell Drummond, preceded Betty in death.

Betty was a member of the Downing Christian Church and the Downing Ariel Rebekah Lodge #752 for over 50 years. She was an avid lover of music as she played the piano and organ for many churches, school, lodge, nursing home and other organization functions as well as weddings and funerals. She was also a member of the Downing Orchestra.

Her love of god, family and music kept her going as her God- given talent was used for others enjoyment.

Graveside services were held September 5, 2002, at the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, MO with Larry Smith, pastor of the Downing Christian Church officiating. Pallbearers were H. Middleton, Loweldene Fincher, Bob Carney, Joe Fulk, Chris Seamster and Josh Seamster. Memorials have been established for the Omega Youth Home. Final arrangements were by the Norman Funeral Home of Downing, MO.
