Jewell Alberta Winn, 90, of Kirksville, MO died April 30, 2002, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
The daughter of Oscar LeRoy and Bessie (Evans) Anders, she was born February 16, 1912, in rural Downing, MO.
On March 13, 1928 in Keokuk, IA, she was married to Silas Lee Oren Winn. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1972.
Besides her husband and parents, a brother, Wilford Lee Anders and a sister, Marjorie Vasquez, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren pre-ceded her in death.
Mrs. Winn and her husband lived in the Downing, MO vicinity all of their married life. Following his death, she moved to Kirksville, MO. She was a homemaker except for six years when she was employed in the housekeeping and dietary departments of the Twin Pines Care Center in Kirksville, MO. She was a member of the Christian Church in Downing, MO.
She is survived by her children, Virginia Gray of Kirksville, MO, Mrs. Lee (Nadine) Chancellor of Kirksville, MO, Albert Lee and wife, Druzella Winn of Memphis, MO, Charles and wife, Barbara Winn of Kirksville, MO, Eugene and wife, Barbara Winn of Hallsville, MO, Marjorie York McFarland of Kirksville, MO and Lonnie and wife, Sharon Winn of Boonville, MO; 28 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Opal Byrn of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Oscar Anders of Fountain, CO; and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held May 3, 2002, at the Norman Funeral Home in Downing, MO. Reverend David Strong, pastor of First Church of God in Kirksville, MO, officiated. Betty Anderson, organist and LaMayra Brown, soloist provided music. Pallbearers were Joel Winn, Bryan Winn, Wayne Winn, Jerry Chancellor, Pat Gray, and Curtis York, Honorary pallbearers were Brent Winn, Mike Gray, Jimmie Winn, Rex Winn, Frankie Winn, Randall Aldridge, Jacob Cayou, John Cayou, Daniel Cayou, Justin Winn, and Ronald York. Interment was in the Downing City Cemetery at Downing, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Downing City Cemetery. Norman Funeral Home, Downing, MO, was in charge of arrangements.
