Lydia S. Martin, 91, of Mohnton, PA, formerly of Gorin, MO, died March 18, 2002, at her home after a lengthy illness.

Born in West Earl Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jacob W. and Annie Eva (Shelly) Rissler.

She was married to Amos Z. Martin. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference.

Also preceding her in death were one grandson, John Horst; two great-grandchildren, Regina Hoover and Jay Paul Hoover; six brothers, Noah S., John S., David S., Amos S., Daniel S., and Jacob S. Rissler; and two sisters, Katie S. (Rissler) Zimmerman, and Annie S. (Rissler) Eberly.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha R. (Martin), wife of Henry Gehman of Mohnton, PA and Mary R. (Martin), wife of Earl Horst of Penn Yan, NY; three sons, Titus R., husband of Florence (Hackman) Martin of Memphis, MO, Enos R., husband of Anna (Kurtz) Martin of Harrodsburg, KY, and Phares R., husband of Alice (Huber) Martin of Mohnton, PA, with whom she resided; 36 grandchildren; 121 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held March 25, 2002, at the Millport Mennonite Cemetery, rural Rutledge, MO, with Bishop Abner Oberholtzer, Enos Zimmerman, and Charles Zimmerman officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Adin Horst, Glenn Martin, Leonard Martin, Marlin Martin, David Horst, and Michael Martin. Arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis chapel.
