Orville L. Frogge, 90, of Wanatah, IN, formerly of Memphis, MO, died March 12, 2002, at the Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, IN.

He was born July 11, 1911, in Memphis, MO, to Aura A. and Rebecca A. McKnight Frogge.

Orville was a graduate of Memphis High School and had two years of college.

He married Veva Marie Heath on October 29, 1936, at the Christian Church parsonage by Rev. Walter M. Faey in Memphis, MO. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last October.

He was retired from Budd Automotive, Gary, IN, as a pressman, for 27 years. He was a member of the LaCrosse Christian Church in LaCrosse, IN. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #16 AF and AM of Memphis, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #29 RAM, Memphis Commandery KT #41, and a member of the Greensburg Chapter #258 Order of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Wanda and the late Pete Treece of Wanatah, IN; one son, Michael Sr. and his wife, Carole Froedge of Wanatah, IN; seven grandchildren, JoAnn and husband, Joe Hiscox, Terrie Radakovich, Jayne and husband, Barry Chayhitz, Jackie and husband, Rick Tharp, Mike and wife, Patti Froedge, Jason Treece, and Melissa Froedge; 15 great-grandchildren, Ken and Andrea Hiscox, Amy and husband, Brian Morris, Danyelle, Tiffany, Cody, Cory Chayhitz, Sarah Hiscox, Joshua Tharp, Jessica Hiscox, Shelby Froedge, Joey Tharp, Zach Hiscox, Collin Froedge, Alec Paulk and Macy Chayhitz and three great-great-grandchildren, Kendall and Mitchell Morris and Darien Hiscox and two cousins, Juanita McKnight and Lavaughn Ketchum. Orville is also survived by a life-long friend, Maxine and the late Bill Grabowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held March 15, 2002, at the Memphis Funeral Home in Memphis, MO, with the Rev. Charles Hammack officiating. Joe and Lori Fulk provided the music. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers were Dwight DeRosear, Ray Howard, Richard Clark, George Koontz, Bill Mallett and Harry Lee Grabowski. Honorary bearers were Roy Lee Smith and George Saunders. A Masonic Service was held March 15, 2002, by the Memphis Lodge #16 A.F. and A.M. A memorial has been designated to the Memphis Lodge #16 A.F. and A.M. Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO, was in charge of arrangements.
