Glen Dorsey Corwin, 81, was born near Bible Grove, MO, June 26, 1920 and passed away February 10, 2002, at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, IL.

Glen was the son of Soloman P. and Amanda (Purvis) Corwin.

On October 31, 1940, he was united in marriage to Beulah Mae Shultz in Memphis, MO, and to this union four children were born, Ronald Loris, Thomas Gus, Glenda Mae and Diana Kay.

Glen is survived by his wife, Beulah; son, Tom Corwin and wife, Karen of Bible Grove, MO; daughters, Glenda Cox of Quincy, IL, Diana Couch and husband, Buddy of Baring, MO; daughter-in-law, Dee Corwin of Cameron, MO; 14 grandchildren, Eric Corwin and wife, Lana, Mark Corwin and wife Vicki, Michelle Ebbing and husband Dan, Mitch Girardin and fiancÚ Michelle Lentz, Matthew Cox, Tony Couch and wife Kristen, Tim and wife Brianna, Angela Spencer and husband Rick, Aimee Couch, Chris Childress and wife Billie Jo, Kelle and husband Bill Gunnell, Randy Clemons, Christie Clemons, and Denine Hunt; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; great-grandchildren, Drew, Cody, Brock, Bailey, Paige, Lane, David and Justyne Couch, Emily Spencer, Blake, Jessica and Justin Ebbing, Kevin, Johnathan, Morgan, Landon, Kayce and Logan Corwin, Kala, Kara, and Kyle Childress, Shane Gunnell, Holly Hunt, Chris Clemons and Mark Whitlock.

Preceding Glen in death were his parents; one son, Ronald Loris Corwin on February 24, 2001; one grandson, Michael Lee Girardin on August 31, 1985; one great-grandson, Matthew Whitlock; two brothers, Frank and Fred Corwin; three sisters, Sina and Mina Phillips and Alta Clark.

Glen attended Bible Grove School and graduated in 1939. He was born and raised on the farm where he lived all his life. Glen was a dairy farmer, carpenter, sheep shearer, and the community's handy man for many of his neighbors. He loved fishing, hunting, dancing, visiting, and telling stories to anyone who would listen. He was fond of his teams of workhorses. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren, taking them rides on his tractor and showing them all his animals.

He enjoyed having company and sharing family meals with everyone who stopped by at dinnertime.

Glen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Glen was a member of the First Christian Church, Memphis, MO, a member of the Bible Grove Historical Society, a member of Greensburg Masonic Lodge #414 AF & AM, and a former member of the Greensburg Eastern Star #258 O.E.S.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina. Burial will be in the Church of Christ Cemetery at Bible Grove, MO. Casketbearers will be his grandsons, Eric and Mark Corwin, Tony and Tim Couch, Mitch Girardin and Matthew Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Couch, Dan Ebbing, Chris Childress, Bill Gunnell, Logan Corwin, Drew and Cody Couch, and Randy Clemons.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, MO, after 4:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday by Greensburg Masonic Lodge #414 AF & AM.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Glen Corwin may be made to the family.
