Dale Eli Brubaker, son of LaRue Gingerich Brubaker and June Ecil Martin, was born in Schuyler County, MO on February 2, 1929. He passed away on December 25, 2001 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home at the age of 72 years.

On January 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Virginia Lee Johnson, and to this union one son, Michael Dale, and one daughter, Eva Marie were born.

Dale enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 18, 1951 and served in Korea until August 19, 1953.

Upon returning home, Dale farmed until July 20, 1968, when he went to work for the State of Missouri, where he served as a caseworker until poor health forced him to retire on May 11, 1984.

Dale was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, MO.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Brubaker; and one brother-in-law, Charles Hogle.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia; two children, Michael Dale and wife, Colleen of Kalamazoo, MI, and Eva Marie Smyser and husband, Quinten of Lancaster, MO; one granddaughter, Randi Lopez of Kalamazoo, MI; three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Luby of Dallas, TX and Mary Virginia Hogle of Mountain Home, AR; one brother, William (Bill) Brubaker of Fort Wayne, IN; two sisters-in-law, Linda Dixon and husband, John of Ottowa, IL and Mrs. John Brubaker of Clark, MO; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held December 28, 2001, at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO, with Payton Smyser officiating. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, MO or to the Schuyler County Ambulance District.
