Meagan Fromm Signs With CMSU To Play Basketball
Coming off a junior season that saw her earn second team all-state honors and her second consecutive MVP award for the Tri-Rivers Conference, Scotland County's Meagan Fromm has plenty of eyes on her as she enters her final season of high school basketball.
But the SCR-I senior took some of that pressure off herself prior to the start of the season when she signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Central Missouri State University.
After averaging 19.4 points and 10.1 rebounds a game last year, the 5-11 guard/forward was one of the most coveted high school players in the Tri-State area.
On December 6, six games into the 2002-2003 season for the CMSU Jennies, Coach Scott Ballard announced the signing of Fromm as well as Ashley Millham to give his team a head start on the competition as far as next year's team is concerned.
Fromm and Millham, a 5-11 guard from Notre Dame in Cape Girardeau, both committed to CMSU as part of the NCAA women's basketball early signing period.
The Jennies, 3-3 this season, open play in the Holiday Inn Express Jennies Tournament in Warrensburg this week.
Meagan is the daughter of Kevin and Dani Fromm of Memphis. She is coached by Andrea Dabney at SCR-I High School where Meagan also is an all-star softball performer.
The Jennies were 21-9 last season and finished third in the MIAA Conference. Coach Ballard is entering his seventh season at CMSU.
