Memphis Man Flown From Accident Scene
A Memphis man was flown by helicopter from the scene of a two-vehicle accident in Clark County at 12:35 p.m. April 15.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Jerry W. Sears, 61, sustained moderate injuries in a crash on Highway 136 just west of Luray. He was taken by AirEvac helicopter to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Patrick E. Howard, 30, of Higbee was westbound on Highway 136 in a 1998 International when he lost control of the vehicle as he was attempting to slow down for a vehicle in front of him that was attempting a left turn. The truck crossed the center line and rotated clockwise in the road where it was struck in the passenger side by the 1979 Mack Grain Truck that was being driven by Sears in the eastbound lane.
Howard and a passenger in his truck, 22-year-old Joshua G. Hall, 22, of Renick, suffered minor injuries in the crash. They were taken by private vehicle to the Scotland County Memorial Hospital.
The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Clark County Sheriff's Department, Clark County Ambulance Service, Clark County Rescue Squad and the Kahoka Fire Department.
