Lady Birds Fly Away With 74-46 Win Over SCR-I
The scoring was fast and furious November 27 in the Scotland County Lady Tigers home opener. Unfortunately for SCR-I South Shelby was doing the bulk of the damage as the Lady Birds defeated Scotland County 74-46.
The Lady Tigers hung close through the first half. South Shelby took a 17-12 lead in the first period. Amy Blomme hit a pair of three pointers in the second period to keep SCR-I within striking distance, down just 35-28 at the intermission.
But the troublesome third period was the end for SCR-I as South Shelby caught fire, finishing with 22 points in the key stretch to build a 19 point advantage and take control of the contest.
SCR-I managed just eight points in the final period but it was academic as the Lady Birds coasted to the win.
Meagan Fromm led Scotland County with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Blomme and Sara Norton each finished with eight points while Brenna Cook added five points.
The loss drops SCR-I to 0-3 on the year.
