SCR-I Falls To Eagles 14-8 In JV Football Action
The Scotland County junior varsity football team saw an 8-0 half time lead evaporate in the third period before totally disappearing in the final minutes of a 14-8 loss to Knox County October 8.
The two teams settled into a defensive struggle for much of the first half before SCR-I got on the board in the second quarter. The Tigers scored on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Danny Roach to Clint Cottrell. Roach then hit Drew Holt with a pass for the two-point conversion to put the Tigers on top 8-0.
The Scotland County defense finally gave in late in the third period when the Eagles scored on a 3-yard touchdown run. But the defense came up big to stop the two-point conversion and preserve an 8-6 advantage.
That held up until the final minutes of the ball game when the Eagles scored on a 2-yard TD run with 1:07 left in the game. Knox County tacked on the two-point conversion to make the score 14-8.
