Rams Run Over Tigers Junior High Football Team
Schuyler County made it a clean sweep of the Scotland County football program with a 28-8 defeat of the SCR-I Tigers junior high football team September 29.
The Rams took the early lead on the team's first possession. After a lengthy drive Schuyler County scored on a one-yard touchdown run with 4:35 left in the first quarter.
Scotland County came right back when quarterback Jeremy Hinds ran the quarterback option around the right end and bolted to a 55-yard touchdown. Daniel White punched in the two-point conversion to tie the game at 8-8 at the end of the first quarter.
The Rams managed to put one more tally on the scoreboard before half time to take a 14-8 lead at the intermission.
Unfortunately for the Tigers the Rams came back out in the second half and put two more touchdowns on the score board. The Tigers were unable to muster any sustained offensive drives in the second half going on to the 28-8 defeat.
The loss drops SCR-I to 1-2 on the season. The Tigers played North Shelby October 1 and will host Putnam County November 4 before traveling to Knox County for the season finale October 11.
