Twenty Teams Play In Timber Ridge Calcutta
The 4-man Calcutta golf tournament at Timber Ridge Golf Course August 4th drew 80 golfers to Memphis for the Sunday event. Twenty teams competed in the contest, which was broken down into two flights.
The team of Roger Grant, Laddie Briscoe, Bob Courtright and Lynn Riney won the championship flight. Finishing in second was the team of Dave and Doug Shalley, Bill Dorothy and Bob Curtis followed by the team of Brett Brewer, Mike Johnson, Kris Lister and Mark Drummond in third.
There was a tie for first place in the A-flight. The teams of Brent Bondurant, Eyad AlJundi, Ron Phillips and Seth Shumaker; and Tom Potter, Jerry Wilson, Bud Kirby and Ron Farrell, split the first and second place prize money. The team of Bob Schultz, John Ed Luther, Vernon Yoder and Jack Lombardo finished third.
The Calcutta events were settled in the afternoon round.
The team of Briscoe, Grant, Courtright and Riney cemented their tourney win with the best score on the final round to also take home the money for the Calcutta championship flight.
Second place went to Kevin and Don Fromm, and Ken and Mitch Lucas.
Two new teams sneaked into the money in the A-flight. Calcutta. Ken McMinn, Kelly Cooley, Ryan Robinson and Darrell Harvey won first place. The team of Tyler Henselman, Jake McBee, Bob Newman and Dennis Robertson was second.
The B-Flight winners in the Calcutta were Bondurant, AlJundi, Phillips and Shumaker in first and the team of Shultz, Luther, Yoder and Lombardo in second.
