Lister, Shalley Win Father's Day Two-Man Scramble Golf Tourney

Timber Ridge Golf Course paid tribute to a host of dads as the annual Father's Day golf tournament was held Sunday, June 17.

The two-man scramble event was held in two shifts. Thirty teams took to the course in the morning shift followed by a smaller group of 19 teams in the afternoon round.

The team of Kris Lister and Doug Shalley won the championship flight with a score of eight under par. Bob and Tyler Henselman were three shots off that pace with a 63 followed by the team of Brett and Jacob Brewer in third with a 65.

Five teams tied for the top score in the A-flight with 69s. Tyler Henselman and Jake McBee won the tie-breaker to take first place. Dean Bolick and John Ed Luther took second and Ken McMinn and Ryan Robinson were third.

The B-flight also was decided by a tie breaker with several teams finishing with scores of 72. Bob Newman and Mike Johnson won the tie-breaker. The team of Dave Seppelt and Sapp was second followed by Roger Robinson and Roger Grant.

The C-flight win went to Doug Small and David Young. They finished tied with a 78. Richard Newman and Tim Duncan were second followed by Jason and Allen Middleton.

Tournament contests were held on each hole. Rich Scott won a golf towel from Eclipse T-shirts for the second shot closest to the pin on hole #1.

Mark Drummond picked up a $25 gift certificate from the Pro Shop courtesy of Community Bank of Memphis for the longest drive on hole #2.

Leland Hyde won the $200 50/50 contest on hole #3 for the shot closest to the pin.

Lister was closest to the 100-yard marker on hole #4 to win a dozen golf balls courtesy of the LaPlata Pro Shop.

The State Farm Insurance golf package went to Bob Laughlin for the second shot closest to the pin on #5 while Charlie Boyer won a $20 pro shop gift certificate from Firstar for the longest putt on #6.

Memphis Lumber gave away a golf towel and hat package to Drummond for the closest drive to the pin on #7 and to Steve Racey for the drive closest to the pond on #9.

Little Jess gave away a golf bag for the drive closest to the pin on #8. Bob Henselman won the prize.
