Richard L. "Dog" Haley, 54, of Aurora, IL, passed away December 2, 2001, at Aurora Manor.

He was born July 15, 1947, in Kirksville, MO, the son of George and Margaret (Bissell) Haley.

Richard was a member of Sugar Grove United Methodist Church. He worked for Whirlpool, Inc., in the Finance Department for 26 years and then subsequently for Transamerica Corporation. He was the president of the Toledo, OH Jaycees Club.

Richard was an avid golfer, having golfed at courses throughout the country. His favorite golf course was the Mississippi Nationals in Redwing, MN, where he and his brother, Jerry enjoyed the time of their lives. Richard introduced his brother to sand greens at a course in Memphis, MO. He was also a very accomplished billiard player dating back to his childhood.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Lori of Aurora, IL; his three children, Richard L. "Rick" Haley of Aurora, IL, Tricia (Russ) Jones of Aurora, IL, and Christopher (Sherry) Haley of Bolingbrook, IL; six grandchildren, Amber N. Haley, Alisha R. McBroom, Luke S. Jones, Dustin A. Jones, Sean R. Jones, and Emma R. Conway; two sisters, Sharon Koenig of St. Louis, MO and Linda K. Wahe of Evansville, IN; his brother, Jerry (Reg) Haley of Evansville, IN; his mother-in-law, Rose Walsher of Westmont, IL; an aunt and uncle, Floyd and Estie Carter of Burlington, CO, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by an uncle, Bill (Anna Lee) Haley; his father-in-law, Alex Walsher; his nephew, Josh Koenig and a step-sister, Tammy J. Haley.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Sugar Grove, IL, with Rev. Steve Good officiating. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at the Healy Chapel, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sugar Grove, IL. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
