LOIS CONE ALDRIDGE (12/15/1909 - 11/02/2000)
A service off the coast of Newport, OR was held on July 1, 2001 to honor the life of Lois H. Cone Aldridge. She passed away on November 2, 2000 at the age of 90. Her last request was that she be cremated and her ashes be spread in the ocean, which she loved.
Lois was born on December 15, 1909 in Camp Point, IL to Harry and Edith Stabler. She graduated from Camp Point High School.
On November 28, 1928, she was united in marriage to Raymond Cone. They had one son, Phillip (Bud) Cone. Raymond preceded her in death on November 1, 1945. She later married Russell Aldridge in January 1948. They had four children, Helen, Betty, Harry and Steve.
She lived most of her life in Northeast, MO, with a few years in Loveland, CO and the last 13 years in Newport, OR. She was a homemaker who enjoyed doing needlepoint and walking on the beach.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husbands and one daughter, Helen Aldridge at birth.
She is survived by four children, Phillip Cone and wife, Helen of Memphis, MO, Betty Aldridge of Newport, OR, Harry Aldridge and wife, Delores of Eugene, OR and Steve and wife, Yumiko of Springfield, OR; 10 grandchildren, Crystal Jones and husband, Rob of Ozark, MO, Phyllis Milburn and husband, Joe of Burlington, IA, Michael Cone of Jefferson City, MO, Katrina Britt and husband, Dan of Newport, OR, Dawn Green and husband, Kelly of Eugene, OR, Aaron Aldridge of Eugene, OR, Russ Aldridge of San Diego, CA, Glee Aldridge of Eugene, OR, Brandon Aldridge of Springfield, OR, and Nicholas Aldridge of Springfield, OR; nine great-grandchildren, Samuel and Preston Jones, Zachary Milburn, Alex Britt, Chris and Jeffrey Green, Robert and David McNear and Jacob Brennan. She is also survived by one brother, Glenwood Stabler of Santa Barbara, CA.
The service was planned, organized and performed by her four children.
