RALPH C. AGRE (2/10/1922 - 6/11/2001)
Ralph C. Agre, 79, of Memphis, MO, passed away June 11, 2001 at his home.
Ralph was born February 10, 1922 to Clarence and Ethel Agre in Bismarck, ND.
Ralph was married to Arlene Fitzgerald on February 16, 1942 and to this union three children were born. On September 17, 1977 he was married to Betty E. Huffman of Macomb, IL who preceded him in death.
Ralph was a high school graduate. He operated his own radio and TV shop in Canton, IL for 23 years. In 1973 he went to work at Mid-Century Telephone Co-op where he started as a lineman and worked up to bookkeeper until his retirement. In Ralph's spare time he enjoyed flying RC airplanes, working in his home workshop, and remodel-ing his house. He became a licensed pilot when he lived in Canton, IL. He accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age and was baptized in 1996. In 1999 he moved to Memphis, MO to be closer to his family. He attended the First Baptist Church in Memphis, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; and a brother, Marvin O. Agre.
He is survived by one son, Gary Agre of Ohio; two daughters, Marlene Brush and husband, Danny of Memphis, MO, Cynthia Breese and husband, Eddie of Fiatt, IL; eight grandchildren, Gary Steven and Joy Agre of St. Charles, MO, Mark and Susan Agre of Overland Park, KS, Jay and Samantha Brush, Brian and Cindy Brush, Danielle and Jake Bair, Chris Brush, all of Memphis, MO; Darren and Jeannie Breese of Canton, IL, Brenda and Darren Sprague of Farmington, IL; 18 great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Jared Agre, Zachary Agre, Jayson, Jacqui', Samara, Shailyn Brush, Anthony and Amber Brush, Breanna, Tabitha, Marissa, Calesse and Lathe Bair, Delaney Bresse, Kayla, Allison and Marcie Kae Sprague.
The family has suggested memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
Funeral services were held June 13, 2001 at the First Baptist Church of Memphis, Memphis, MO, with Bob Neese officiating. Music was provided by Sarah Myers, pianist, Faye Humphrey, organist, and Danielle Bair, soloist. Body bearers were Brian Brush, Chris Brush, Darren Breese, Jake Bair, Mark Agre, and Gary Steven Agre. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO. Arrangements were handled by the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
