Iowa Man Wanted In Connection With Local Truck Theft

A Burlington, IA, man is being sought on felony tampering charges after a vehicle, stolen from Memphis, was recovered by the Burlington Police Department.

According to the Memphis Police Department, Shawn P. Staub is being sought on a warrant for class C felony tampering in the first degree. He allegedly stole a 1986 S-10 truck from the Rick Hunt residence at 233 N. Cecil Street sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. June 16.

The vehicle was recovered in Burlington later that afternoon and has been returned to the owner undamaged.

A warrant was issued for Staub's arrest by the Scotland County Prosecuting Attorney with bond set at $10,000 cash.
