Peggy J. Simpson, age 62, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, at her home.  She was born November 23, 1956, in Bloomfield, Iowa, a daughter of Charles J. and Mary Helen (Lancaster) Simpson.

Peggy received her nurse’s training in Davenport, Iowa and worked for many years until she was no longer able due to her health.

She enjoyed spending time doing cross stitch and caring for her dog, Penny.

Peggy was a member of the Versailles United Methodist Church and the Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Simpson of the home; her sisters, Libby Mander and husband Rich of Jacksonville, Illinois and Dixie Salzman of Versailles, Missouri; her aunt, Shirley Eggleston of Memphis, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, Charles J. Simpson, her sisters, Terry Lee Calton and Cathy Ryherd and her uncle, Paul Lancaster.

A celebration of Peggy’s life was held March 11th, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Versailles with Reverend Gary Patterson officiating.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Versailles Cemetery.  Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.
