Hilma Marie (Beeler) Miller, 84 of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Downing, Missouri passed away at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
The daughter of Raymond Roy and Edra Byrel (Sleeth) Beeler, she was born on September 3, 1934 in rural Downing, Missouri. Hilma was a graduate of the Downing High School in Downing, Missouri. On July 5, 1952 she was united in marriage to Donnie Dean Miller and to this union three children were born, Jerry, Linda and Larry.
Survivors include her children, Jerry Miller and wife, Kathy of Columbia, Missouri, Linda Reese and husband, Jay of Columbia, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Laura Miller of Queen City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Cameron Miller of Lancaster, Missouri, Justin Miller and wife, Kelly of Columbia, Missouri, Kimberly Reese and wife, Jen of Columbia, Missouri, Angie Ridge and husband, Jamie of Catlin, Illinois, Jeff Reese and wife, Alicia of Rockton, Illinois and Clayton Miller and wife, Faith of Memphis, Missouri; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, cousins and many good friends.
Hilma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donnie on November 12, 2008; one son, Larry Miller on August 6, 2015 and one sister, Nora Lou Toney and her husband, Kenny.
Hilma was a member of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri and also the Rebekah Lodge of Downing, Missouri.
Donnie and Hilma owned and operated the Miller Grocery Store in Downing, Missouri for many years and enjoyed serving the community.
Hilma enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family and especially with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friends in Downing and Macon, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri with Larry Smith, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church officiating. Music was special CD selections of “When I Get Where I Am Going” and “I Will Rise”. Pallbearers were Justin Miller, Kimberly Reese, Jamie Ridge, Angie Ridge, Jeff Reese and Clayton Miller. Visitation was held prior to the funeral services at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri.
Memorials have been established for the Coffey Cemetery. Burial will be in the Coffey Cemetery, south of Downing, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
